We are seeking a Research & Innovation Manager to join our corporate division on a permanent basis, reporting to the Deputy Medical Director.

To manage all aspects of research within the Trust; ensuring high quality research through the implementation of the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.

To foster a culture of patient centred research within the Trust by encouraging participation, increasing capacity and increasing the research profile of the Trust.

To act as the main point of contact for all researchers on research governance and national and local research targets for all new and ongoing research activity within the Trust.

To act as the budget holder for the Research Department and manage research funding applications. In this role you will provide advice and support to Trust staff regarding the management of IP and innovation, along with maintaining a register of all IP rights owned by the Trust.

In this role you will increase research capacity and capability and liaise with the Local Research Networks to ensure research governance and financial probity.

You will be required to line manage the research administration staff and research nurses based within the Trust including external research staff and manage and coordinate research nurse activity including study recruitment, achieving national targets and Good Clinical Practice.

This role also requires the management of relevant national and local databases that support research governance, EDGE, NIHR CPMS, OPD, IRAS, PIDS etc. and ensure timely information flows to support recruitment monitoring and ongoing funding.
