This new part time 0.45 FTE (16.6 hour) post is available immediately on permanent basis. The days on which the hours are to be worked is flexible and can be discussed.

Summary of the role

The primary purpose of this role is to provide general administrative support to Principal Investigators and their teams within the Research, Innovation, Learning and Development Centre (RILD). The role should be expected to be flexible and may change over time. This role will involve providing a full professional and confidential secretarial and administrative service to the highest standard.


This is a role will specifically support the Professor of Cardiovascular Sciences / Scientific Director Professor Angela Shore and her team and Associate Prof. Dr Rachel Freathy.


The post will be based within the Research Innovation Learning and Development (RILD) and Diabetes & Vascular Research Centre (DVRC) at the RD&E site and be part of a team of administrators providing support across the Institute of Biomedical and Clinical Science. On a day-to-day basis, the administration Team will be managed by the Senior Administrator Lucy Lofthouse.


The individual will be competent in managing their own time and able to offer a high level of administration support to two professors and their teams. The post will be based within our RILD building/Diabetes and Vascular Research Centre at the RD&E (hybrid home/office working is encouraged) and forms part of a team of administrators offering support throughout IBCS. Acting as the main point of contact for the Professors, the individual will need to strive at all times to deliver a high quality of work, whilst being able to multi task in a pressured environment, taking responsibilities for meeting targets and deadlines whilst possessing the ability to communicate with some of our most senior professors. A high level of confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
