Job Title -Reliability Engineer

Location –Midlands/South

We are currently looking for a Reliability Engineer, you will provide cutting edge expertise in identifying and using data to improve customer’s reliability across a wide variety of industrial sectors.

You will be primarily accountable for the improvement and delivery of solutions geared towards the Industrial IoT (IIoT) communications and data collection. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting, configuring, and deploying the SaaS (Software as a Service) products on the customers site, with a focus on helping customers get predictive insight from their data.

You will professionally and systematically define, design and develop, data acquisition solutions that includes:

  • Understanding of the customer asset criticality
  • Relevant failure modes for assets and likely leading indicators to detect these
  • How to use both existing and new data streams to capture, and effectively use, these leading indicators

  • Delivering value through improved asset reliability
  • Utilise data to create preventive maintenance insight that helps the customer to drive action
  • You will have strong communication skill that allows you to be able to present a solution/product at C-suite level.

Reporting to the Director of SaaS Sales & Service Delivery– Industrial Digital Solutions and part of the wider RS Maintenance Solutions team, you will be a part of an organisation that promotes personal development, growth, and career progression and who will provide you with the tools and training you need to excel in the industry.

What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role

  • Facilitate discovery workshops to identify customer value that can be derived from Industrial IoT technology implementation projects
  • Carry out customer site surveys to capture technical requirements that will inform architectural designs for IIoT

  • Make Predictive Maintenance recommendations reporting Criticality, Environment, Impacts.
  • Drive continuous improvement, analysing performance and maintainability of new installations.
  • Providing Operational Technology (OT) input into the development of hardware elements for acquisition of data from customer control environments.

  • Solid knowledge of World Class Manufacturing methodologies
  • Working with the IIoT Technology team to develop software solutions to translate, aggregate, identify and normalise industrial data
  • Capturing customer feedback and requirements for IIoT solutions and feed into the Product Development Roadmap
  • Working with the Customer Success team to support customers throughout their life. Focus on delighting the customer to ensure renewal and expansion
  • Be an active member of the Team, shaping the overall strategic direction for the proposition and the team
  • Ensuring customer advice is compliant with cyber security best practices
  • Understanding customer challenges around OT/IT integration so you can offer expert, practical advice to solve problems

What you will need to be successful in this position:

  • Mechanical/Electrical qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Enterprise level information systems (eg PLM / ERP / CMMS)
  • Good working knowledge and experience of working with industrial hardware (PLCs, Controllers etc) and data acquisition solutions
  • Experience of process measurement & data analysis
  • Experience managing business change projects
  • Good level of experience working within the Process Manufacturing sectors
  • Not afraid to suggest new methods and processes and ability to carry these through to proof of concept
