JOB PURPOSE

The FI Project Leader will provide guidance, leadership and coaching in terms of both Factory Improvements theory, and its practical application. They will ensure that a PDCA approach is understood and followed across site, that RCA is correctly identified, and tools correctly deployed with this framework (5W1H, PPA, WHY-WHY etc). This will entail working closely with engineers and pillar leaders from the different departments/pillars (Q, PM, Ops etc), and supporting them with their strategy, application, and delivery of FI. In addition, they will lead a number of their own improvement projects throughout the year.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identifies productivity and cost improvement opportunities and keep others accountable to increase manufacturing capacity
  • Ensure the logic of WCM and CI is followed in the calculation of consumption of raw materials and packaging for the manufacture of semi-finished and finished products and analysis of deviations
  • Support and partner pillar leaders and functional heads in driving a consistent approach to FI, loss reduction and their individual pillar strategies.
  • Working alongside the Operations Managers and WCM&FP Manager, continuously develop a Process Engineering function fit for purpose.
  • Lead or support cross-functional major or advanced kaizens, including the training and upskilling of other team members and operational teams
  • Successful achievement of performance targets, through loss identification, leading kaizens or supporting kaizens, in the following areas:
  • Energy Usage Reduction
  • Raw & Pack Waste Elimination
  • Non-Value Added Activities Elimination
  • Changeover Time Reduction
  • Minor Stoppages Eliminatinon
  • Quality Incident (A,B,C,D) Reduction
  • Ensure the horizontal roll-out of improvements to all relevant areas once they have been proven to be of benefit in the initial application
  • Lead by example in the application of the 7 WCM tools and working in accordance with the 7 WCM principles.
  • Ensure the application of the full set of WCM methods and tools to identify root causes, define countermeasures and validate their effectiveness to prevent reoccurrence across site kaizens.
  • Lead and develop the use of advanced analytical tools in focussed improvements – High-Speed Camera, 3-D printer, advanced tools etc

ALL ABOUT YOU

  • Technical knowledge on the technologies and processes of Aerosol and Roll-On manufacturing
  • Understanding of the material (pack and FG) characteristics and its interactions with other elements and machines
  • Analytical skills
  • Understanding Lean Manufacturing theory and application
  • Understanding of FI tools and CI processes
  • Excel and digital tool skills
  • SPC experience
  • MTM understanding and application

ADVANCED:

  • Technical knowledge on the technologies and processes of Aerosol and Roll-On manufacturing
  • Mechanical/Electrical skilled Engineer
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Process Safety
  • Industrial Engineering
