Regulatory Issues Oversight Manager

As a Barclays Regulatory Issues Oversight Manager, you will work alongside the dynamic Regulatory Issues Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage client relationships thereby facilitating the use and acceptance of ORAC for tracking and monitoring regulatory issues and to oversee the quality of data and ensure accurate and updated information is incorporated in Controls Committee reporting.

What will you be doing?

  • Embeding the Regulatory Issues Management operating model to drive a consistent and efficient group-wide approach for tracking and monitoring regulatory issues
  • Examining the response process, including participating in close out meetings with regulators, reviewing drafts and providing comments to Regulatory Relations
  • Leading the ‘closing letter’ lifecycle, including review and challenge of mandatory fields required for issue input in ORAC and facilitating the identification and treatment of issues
  • Leading the operating model by working closely and liaising with all three lines of defence for effective guidance in replying to regulator exam reports
  • Executing the Issues Management Standard, embedding the governance framework for consistency of data in ORAC to facilitate reporting and remediation of regulatory issues
  • Reporting significant/material regulatory issues to Controls Committees and Control Forums on a monthly basis

What We’re Looking For

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Experience of Governance, Legal, Regulatory or Compliance experience or business support, ideally in Front Office business lines in an investment bank
  • Knowledge of investment bank products, processes and control infrastructure and market regulation
  • Knowledge in the regulatory environment and developments relating to operational, conduct and reputation risk

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (e.g. PivotTables, graphs, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of governance and change control processes and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate a risk management mindset

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
