About The Role

We are looking for a Regulatory Finance Manager to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

Working as a Regulatory Finance Manager you will make an impact and continue to embed regulatory finance within the ESO (Electricity System Operator) finance business partnering team. In this role you will increase your regulatory knowledge and understanding of its application by providing finance business partnering support to the ESO Regulation Team and ESO Finance Business Partners. You’ll provide day to day support, including embedding new RIIO2 changes into regulatory finance processes, collaborative working with Ofgem, regulatory finance support to key code modifications, compliance on all regulatory finance obligations.

This role will be based in Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home as well as flexible working arrangements.

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the ESO Finance contribution to the annual RRP submission including supporting DAG (Data Assurance Guidelines) assessments. Own and manage the RRP assurance process to ensure delivery of accurate and timely financial information and commentary. Using in depth knowledge of regulatory framework, ensure performance story is understood within ESO leadership team and provide supporting narratives to regulatory submissions.
  • Responsible for providing quality, timely advice to Finance and the business of the ESO Regulatory Performance story, working with ESO FBPs to ensure financial decisions are always taken with full understanding of the impact on regulatory performance alongside statutory and management financial performance. Communicate in a way that non-specialists can readily understand and provides value adding insight.
  • Be the main point of contact for queries regarding financial licence obligations and ad hoc regulatory finance requirements such as re-opener submissions and remuneration for new activities. Provide regulatory finance support for key code modifications.
  • Support the bi-annual ESO regulatory business planning process, influencing regulatory outcomes with Ofgem, ensuring any changes to regulatory parameters are fully understood and the ESO remains financeable.
  • Provide support to the ESO Incentives Manager in all financial aspects of incentives frameworks development and ongoing financial performance.
  • Responsible for establishing and transferring appropriate knowledge of the RIIO contracts and regulatory requirements across ESO Finance and the business in order to support the business in making compliant and value adding decisions.
  • Be an active member of the National Grid regulatory finance community to share best practice and develop regulatory understanding whilst maintaining principles of legal separation.
  • Support ESO FBPs and wider business in understanding the regulatory framework.
  • Support and coach other member of the regulatory finance team to promote learning and development.
About You

  • Is a qualified accountant or has equivalent professional experience.
  • Experienced in reporting financial information
  • Worked within financial modelling
  • Strong business partnering experience
  • Understanding of regulatory Finance reporting
  • Ideally have an understanding of regulatory finance and/or ESO business

A competitive salary of up to £73,000 dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
