Registered Care Manager

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £45,257

Maternity cover minimum term 6 months

What you will be doing

Leading a team to provide high quality care, ensuring all CQC Regulations, policy and procedures are met whilst ensuring a person-centred approach is maintained. Ensure that staff members are safely recruited and able to perform their role, with clarity of responsibilities with opportunities for individuals to use their skills, knowledge, and experience. Lead the staff team by sharing knowledge and best practice so that an efficient and safe care service is always maintained, and staff are motivated and engaged.

  • Keep up to date with current legislation, regulation, and local authority standards to ensure high quality standards are met and maintained.
  • Lead good clinical and care governance practice.
  • Develop and sustain professional relationships with all multi-disciplinary teams to ensure timely interventions to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Have experience of implementing and ensuring compliance with CQC regulations in an older people care service setting, managing audit schedules, writing, and reviewing policies and procedures and ensuring they are implemented.
  • Ensure care records are kept accurate, up to date and following General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Assist with the marketing of the home, carrying out tours and assessments to achieve a high level of occupancy and work alongside our media and communication team.
  • Encourage positive and valuable working relationships with stakeholders, including but not limited to families, residents, social services, local authorities, hospitals, and healthcare professionals.
  • Our customers and relatives will be your priority, in ensuring we deliver a high standard of personalised care and supporting where necessary.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of our residents thorough legal compliance with national and local safeguarding policy.
  • Work within agreed budgets by ensuring the effective and commercial management of the home in accordance with company policy.
  • Together with the Calico Groups wider Groups Business Services, work in partnership to ensure that all company, registration, purchasing, and statutory requirements are complied with by ensuring that all agreed standards and requirements of care services are achieved.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and be able to use your hours of work effectively for the benefit of the service. This will include on call responsibilities.
  • Ensure training records are kept up to date and meet/exceed KPI targets.
  • Ensure compliance of medication policies and procedures through a well-structured quality assurance schedule, promoting an open and honest culture for the recording and management of medication administration.
  • Operate a values-led approach to mentoring and guiding staff in their development and provide a culture of development and growth.
  • Promptly deal with any issues in a calm, supportive and professional manner.
  • Participate in management meetings and generate regular updates and reports to senior management.

What you’ll need to be a success

  • NVQ Level 5 in Health and social care
  • Commitment to and evidence of personal professional development
  • Experience of leading services that cater older people and people living with dementia
  • Knowledge and use of clinical assessment tools e.g., Waterlow and Must scores
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to lead, monitor and implement changes that improve the service delivery and outcomes for residents
  • Ability delegate work appropriately
  • IT literate
  • Ability to be flexible regarding working hours
  • Builds effective and credible relationships both internally and externally
  • Works collaboratively with others always sharing ideas and information
  • Effectively builds trust with a consistent approach between actions and words
  • Able to cope in difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to build report and positively influence other
