Job Summary

An exciting opportunity which can be based at any of our UK sites, Trollhattan or Kongsbergto join a newly created function as a Global Quality Systems Auditor whose aim is to standardise and improve our process of Internal Quality Auditing.

Internal Auditing has typically been a function owned at a site level and the general approach has remained unchanged for many years. In this role, you will be working as part of a team which will be aiming to make a step change in the way we audit, offering more “value” to the sites we serve.
Covering the UK & Nordics region, as a Regional Systems Auditor you will be working as a sole auditor and/or part of an auditing team to carry out 1st Party (Internal) and 2nd Party (GKN Aerospace Regional) audits of the site(s) Quality Management System.
You will assess the compliance of the QMS to the relevant Regulatory/ Customer/ Inernal requirements and support in the management of corrective actions to ensure on-going compliance and continual improvement of the site(s) QMS.
You will contribute to the development of the new Global Auditing System challenging and changing the way we have conducted internal auditing in the past.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Audit Manager (UK& Nordics) you will be accountable for the following:
  • Lead robust Internal Audits assessing our performance against relevant Regulatory Requirements (AS9100, Part 21G, Part 145 etc.)_
  • Participate in the development of Audit Plans and development of the Global Auditing System
  • On time delivery of the Audit Schedule
  • Developing, compiling and documenting Audit Checklists
  • Writing of Audit Reports
  • Management of Internal Stakeholders to deliver robust corrective actions to findings raised during the audits
  • Propogating “Quality Culture” across GKN Aerospace
  • Identifying and Sharing “Best Practices” across the other UK&Nordics sites, promoting continual improvements of the sites QMS


Essential
  • Certified as Inernal or External Auditor via a certified Training Provider
  • Have routinely completed internal Audits of a QMS (within GKN or other Experience)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (AS9100 etc)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Airwortiness Regulations (e.g. Part 21G, Part 145 etc)
  • Effective Communicator at all levels within the organisation
  • Knowledge and experience of utilising Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving tools (e.g. PPS, 8D, 5-Why etc.)
  • Demonstratable awareness of ISO19011
  • Profficient in the use of MS Office Applications


Desirable
  • Experience in preparing and writing Audit Checklists which check for compliance to regulatory and airworthiness regulations
  • Experience in development of Business Processes, preferentially with a bias to audit system development
  • Continuous improvement foundation training or equivalent training
  • Experience in the use of the IAQG OASIS database for the input to audit planning.
  • Knowledge in the use of risk based methods and techniques (ISO 31000) for audit planning and management
