Job Title: Regional Sustainability CoordinatorBusiness Area: Lucy ElectricLocation: ThameJob PurposeCoordinate, shape, and champion future improvement actions to meet the companies: Environmental, Carbon Reduction, SDG and Environmental objectives and targets.Job ContextThe role will be based in the UK and support activities in Thame, Basildon (Gridkey) and Brazil.The Lucy Group is committed to reducing its carbon impact by focusing on solutions, communities, and environments. Strategically this will include the adoption and management of sustainability initiatives such as UN SDGs. Certified Carbon Reduction, System and CSR Programmes. At the same time considerable efforts are being made to support our customers and grow the business through products and services such as Renewable’s connections, Electric Vehicles and Smart Cities. This role will support an existing network of people driving high profile continuous improvement initiatives along a pre-defined but adaptable road map aimed toward meeting strategic objectives and targets.Job DimensionsKey Responsibilities Include:
  • Management of working groups and coordination of site led sustainability improvement activities.
  • Reporting progress using company operating system(s).
  • Drive improvement activities that align with operational and strategic goals of the business, these activities will demonstrably contribute towards meeting net zero goals.
  • Ensuring data is sourced, collated, analysed, and reported in accordance with Carbon Reduce quantification standards and company requirements.
  • Undertaking desktop research on sustainability issues, latest innovations and technology.
  • Writing case studies and other material for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintenance of sustainability content relating to site activities.
  • Data management and reporting of overall performance, including evaluation, trend analysis to determine areas for improvement.
  • Conducting site assessments/audits as necessary and closing out any issues/concerns.
  • Ensuring environmental/sustainability compliance obligations are understood, managed and reported in accordance with business system requirements.
  • Ensuring the company remains informed of internal and external sustainability events that might affect stakeholders i.e. compliance, methodologies, systems, any specific requirements.
  • Data capture, processing, and analysis.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and external presentations.
  • Attending and supporting global working groups and involvement as necessary in group-level activities.
We are looking for a self-starter with a relevant qualification in an environmental or sustainability-related subject, we would also expect a practical working knowledge of ISO14001:2015 and UN Strategic Development Goals (SDG) This is a wide-reaching role working across the globe and a passion for sustainability is a must. Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • BEng or BSc in Sustainability Environmental Sciences of Equivalent.
  • Excellent practical skills in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working in Environmental, CSR or Sustainability.
  • IEMA Qualification in Environmental Sustainability.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Science Based Targets, UN SDGs and Achilles Carbon Reduce.
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental issues and trends.
  • Team Player.
