In this role, you have the opportunity to

Lead Engineering projects related to patient monitoring and defibrillators for the Philips Emergency Care business. You will be a key project leader within the Global Emergency Care R&D PMO Team and report to the Director of Programme Management, Pre-hospital and Informatics, Emergency Care.

You are responsible for

  • Working with key stakeholders to create, maintain and execute plans to achieve the business’ product development and R&D ‘must wins’ and deliver key business outcomes
  • Liaising with the R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Product management, Clinical, Marketing teams, suppliers/subcontractors etc. to keep projects and programs running smoothly and on time.
  • Developing cost, time and staffing estimates for assigned projects and tracking against baseline
  • Reporting on progress, issues and risks to key stakeholders in defined formats and forums
  • Ensuring the consistent use of tools, processes and documentation as defined in QMS, Philips’s systems and Ways of Working
  • Ensuring that project team members are clear about deliverable targets and timescales and managing/reporting delays as they occur.
  • Supporting the project team practically to remove roadblocks and ensure projects run as smoothly as possible
  • Supporting resource allocation and prioritization to ensure business needs and overall objectives are met.



You are a part of

The Philips Global Emergency Care R&D PMO (Pre-hospital and Informatics) Team and will lead R&D NPI projects and engineering activities. These activities require a broad spectrum of skills/capabilities, from project management, SDLC and embedded software engineering to managing risk, security, technical investigations, and labelling.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline
  • 6+ years in engineering/R&D project management
  • 5+ years leading a multi-disciplinary team developing medical device hardware/software
  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of electronics and mechanical design aspects of medical devices
  • Good understanding of medical device hardware/ software concepts and familiarity with standard methodologies
  • Experience managing parallel development projects effectively to time, cost and quality presets
  • Excellent project governance experience
  • Strong ability to work cross-culturally in a global environment with geographically dispersed project teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Ability to tailor information and pitch at differing levels of detail, especially presenting management information to assist with and enable decision making
  • Strong experience with project governance and a methodical approach to managing projects and programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, attention to detail and initiative.



Desirable:

  • Experience/knowledge in the areas below
    • Patient monitoring and defibrillation
    • development of hardware/ software as a medical device
    • MDR, CE & FDA regulatory, military & aviation standard requirements
    • Working within an organization operating an ISO13485 engineering quality system
  • PMP certification.
