Purpose of Role:

As Quality Inspector you will be responsible for the inspection of manufactured components and assemblies to ensure compliance to customer specification.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Have a full understanding of measuring techniques in both imperial and metric and be able to utilise micrometers, Vernier’s, profile projectors, tally-surf surface testing and tally-rond roundness testing.
  • Have a full understanding in how to read customer drawings, understand tolerances and various drawing technical features.
  • Possess the ability to understand drawing requirements and how to maintain statistically capable production through working with production to create a stable process
  • Understand how fully automated measuring machines work such as Jenoptic Hommel Vision systems
  • Adhere to company Health and Safety policies and Company Employee Handbook rules
  • Adhere to Company ISO 9001:2015 procedures
  • Complete relevant paperwork

Education & Experience:

  • Previous quality inspection within a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Must be competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Must be conversant with the use of inspection instruments, to measure diameter, surface texture, roundness, concentricity etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear interest in the manufacturing sector.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Excellent Maths, English and Computer Literacy.
  • Tolerance of some contact with metal cutting fluids, used in the process (absence of known acute sensitivity, to these fluids)

Working Pattern:

  • Full time permanent position
  • Five days, 39 hours per week
  • 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm Friday

Salary negotiable depending on experience

28 days Holiday including 8 statutory days
