Strickland Tracks is a privately owned industrial equipment supplier that specialises in manufacturing and distributing crawler track systems. Renowned for providing high quality and innovative engineered products, Strickland Tracks manufacture for a variety of applications including mining, construction, recycling, and agricultural machinery. The Quality Engineer’s role within Strickland Tracks is biased towards in house controls and continuous improvements. The role supports the Quality management with data collection and reporting to enable the collation of management reports, monitoring the health of the QMS. A strong auditor that can add value to process correction, enhancement and refinement. Working alongside quality technicians, you will be required to undertake routine Inspections of incoming product in line with our NPI process and any corrective measure inspections associated with non-conformances.

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Head of Quality on a day-to-day basis the key roles and responsibilities are:

· Perform product and process audits against internal audit schedule and upon request.

· Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.

· Work closely with Production to aid creation and implementation of Control Plans and Business Processes.

· Support Engineering in creation and implementation of NPI, DFMEA and PPAP documentation

· Support introduction of new product to production process including PPAP, ISIR and Controlled Builds.

· Identify opportunities for improvement within the organisation and present recommendations to Management.

· Monitoring the relevant Company Quality KPI’s and take appropriate action when adverse trends are identified.

· Identifying the root causes of quality issues and performing containment, preventative and corrective actions.

· Working with Supplier Quality Engineer on Non-conformance reporting within the supply chain.

· Support management in monitoring and continued improvement of QMS and ISO9001.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

· Required: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or extensive industry experience

· Required: Experienced Internal Auditor

· Required: Understanding and experience of operating Quality Management Systems to ISO9001:2015 & 14001 standards

· Required: Excellent project management skills

· Required: Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Required: Good mathematical skills and proficiency with computer software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Advantageous: Welding and fabrication inspection experience

· Advantageous: Knowledge of wet paint application and associated processes

· Advantageous: Qualified to Six sigma green/black belt

· Advantageous: Ability to use SAGE200 job relevant modules

· Advantageous: CMM (PCDMIS) experience
