ASL/Pharmagraph is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our Quality team in a well-established and growing engineering company. This technician role reports to the Quality Manager and is based at our head office in Finchampstead, Berkshire. This role would suit someone technically minded with 1+ years as an Inspector / Technician who is looking for a role with good technical and career development opportunities.

The company’s products are used in environmental monitoring systems for pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers, as well as for general engineering and military applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

  • To provide support to the Quality Manager.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance team to review and improve processes and documentation.
  • Alerting the Quality Assurance department of ongoing problems and delivering resolutions.
  • Ensure the appropriate procedures, standards and specifications are being adhered to as per the Quality Management System (QMS) and customer requirements.
  • Investigate customer complaints and actively seek to reduce complaints.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work with all departments to help ensure compliance to Quality Management Systems, advising, training, and enforcing as required, helping to foster a culture of “Continuous Improvement”.
  • Perform detailed inspections using a variety of instruments and inspection devices.
  • Compile inspection reports and non-conformance reports.
  • Spot checks of incoming components using drawings and measurement devices.
  • Perform root cause analysis on Non-Conforming Outputs.
  • Work with Goods In to initiate a quarantine area and inspect purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements.
  • Inspecting a sample of incoming goods from new suppliers in line with supplier surveillance requirements.
  • Review production test sheets and methods.
  • Various other general duties required.

Skills

Essential:

  • Ability to work on own initiative, taking ownership.
  • High levels of motivation.
  • Enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Good at listening, providing input and implementing decisions.
  • Excellent attention-to-detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • A full driving license.

Desirable:

  • Experience working to ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and Quality Management Systems.
  • Internal auditor qualifications.
  • Understanding and ability to interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.

Working Arrangement

Full time hours are 9:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, unless on-site working defines otherwise.

Duties will be carried out at ASL/Pharmagraph Head office in Finchampstead, Berkshire with occasional onsite work at customer sites.
