Quality Control Inspector – Mechanical Engineer

£12.50 Per hour + Overtime at Time and a Half

Approx. £25K Per Annum

A successful and growing manufacturing business with industry leading products that are distributed worldwide are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work as a Quality Control Inspector.

The work will be varied with a focus on Inspection, reporting and repairing of a range of forklift machinery ensuring that the products remain at a high standard.

Training will be provided but this job would suit someone with good all round mechanical skills and a keen eye for detail, it will be your job to complete Pre Delivery Inspections to make sure the products leave the facility in perfect condition.

It will be your job to spot potential issues that have been missed by production. When minor adjustment need to be made you will be expected to get on the tools and make these adjustment. Anything major will be sent back to production to be dealt with.

Ideally you will be experience in Plant or Vehicle Fitting and Maintenance, ideally with some Hydraulic and electrical experience, although people with good general mechanical experience and willingness to learn will be trained.

Job Overview

· Perform mid-assembly and end of line inspections on Plant/Forklift Machinery

· Carry out solutions and repairs based on inspection findings

· Report back and monitor inspection results to operators, team leaders and management as necessary to help prevent reoccurrences

· Working effectively to work instructions and processes

· Use air, electrical and hand tools

· Ensuring work conforms to quality and output requirements

· Actively working to resolve problems and ensure continuous improvements

· Assist with R&D projects

· Complete shop floor documentation

Person Specification

· A good mechanical background – professional or hobby

· Desirable Experience – Any or all of the following: Hydraulics, Forklift, Plant Machinery, Agricultural, Vehicle

· Be fit, nimble and good working with hands
