Job Purpose and Impact

LOCATION : Main Liverpool (Brocklebank) ( L20 8DF) the role will also support 2 other sites in Liverpool and a site in Hull (UK) (the site in Hull will require in person visits – usually once per 2 weeks). Some occasional remote working is supported.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is a key member of our Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory team. In conjunction with other colleagues, the position holder will collaborate to identify quality risks and reduce these. The role will include proactively addressing customer requirements and concerns and collaborating on internal and external audits.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure compliance to all food and feed safety and quality regulations policies standards and practices. Ensure customer requirements are understood and are met via audits and working with customers to strengthen relationships Internal audits of Cargill production processes, raw materials and external suppliers to ensure that established quality standards are met Work across multiple sites to deliver food safety production improvement Work closely with other teams such as production, to identify any variations in quality standards and proactively mitigate risks Partners with Site Management teams to improve product quality product safety and supply chain efficiency Conduct root cause analysis for defects, raise non-conformances and implement corrective actions Support the rest of the Food Safety and Quality team and provide training, coaching and mentoring to other colleagues Qualifications

Bachelors/ Master’s degree in a quality assurance / food safety / science based subject or proven practical experience
Demonstrated experience working in food safety/ quality assurance, in a food/ drinks, animal feed or chemicals manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of food safety/ HACCP and quality assurance
A solution orientated working style (analytical, problem solving and decision making)
Ability to work in a practical, hands-on environment that is part of a busy production facility
Numerate and PC literate at intermediate level or above with Microsoft Office
Respectful of other people but able to challenge constructively
Excellent timekeeping skills A driving license is a prerequisite due to the multisite nature of the position
