We are looking for a Quality Assurance Product Tester to join our team in Christchurch. Your main objectives will be to perform effective testing and evaluation of our products, ensuring our products meet the highest quality and safety standards. To evaluate, test and report on pre-production and potential products. To improve the overall viability of products and to ensure they meet both ours and the customers’ expectations. This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, fully office based.

Your day-to-day as a Quality Assurance Product Tester
  • Testing, evaluating, and reporting on potential new products and existing products from a wide range of electronic and electrical consumer products
  • Write reports, recording accurate results of test data and supporting documents.
  • File and log all key information from both internal and external sources.
  • Creating CAP’s/8D reports and liaising with external parties in resolving problems for product and process improvement.
  • Provide a professional response and evaluation in a constructive manner to other departments.
  • Liaise with other areas of the business and external parties on product and quality issues.
  • Batch testing of existing products.
  • Support & provide cover for the lab team with day-to-day functions.
  • Determine and report on potentially faulty products.
  • Following in house procedures for testing and organisational complaints procedures and warranties.
  • Respond to customer enquiries, providing technical support and information about a full range of products.
  • Assist in checking marketing material for the end user, (Manuals, Packaging & Specifications.
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct.

Role requirements
  • Experience in a technical background, e.g., Test engineer, assembly operator, service engineer, technical support, etc desirable.
  • Either a certificate in IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, City & Guilds, NVQ or similar is desirable, but some training can be given to the right person
  • A sound understanding of modern technology, mobile phones, smart phones, tablets, Bluetooth, wireless technology etc
  • Excellent spoken English
  • Good communication skills, to explain problem solutions concisely to our customers, suppliers, and the internal team
  • Well organised with excellent time management abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft package
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot to identify and resolve issues
