Quality Assurance & Hygiene Manager

We have five McCain factories across the UK, including our head office in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. As well as a strong network of farmers, we also own a potato seed business in Montrose, Scotland. McCain is the UK’s largest purchaser of British potatoes, buying approximately 15% of the annual potato crop.

About the role…

We’re recruiting for a Quality Assurance & Hygiene Manager to come and join our UK Technical Team. Reporting into the Regional Technical Manager for the North, you’d be based at our Hull site and it’s your job to ensure necessary legislative, food safety, integrity and agreed quality standards concerning hygiene, food handling and food safety.

You’ll business partner the senior leadership within the plant, and work alongside them to set standards and implement procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the site, and in line with other McCain sites, are effective in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting non-compliance with applicable laws, regulations and relevant compliance standards.

Our ideal candidate will already be a Quality Manager (with Hygiene experience) in an FMCG Manufacturing environment, so we don’t want to tell you how to suck eggs (or peel potatoes!) as you’ll already be living and breathing the role.

We’re looking for someone…

• 
  Who is currently a Quality Manager or equivalent in a fast paced FMCG manufacturing environment with Level 4 Food Safety as a minimum and level 4 HACCP.
• With a continuous improvement mind-set and background.
• Who has experience business partnering and guiding the leadership teams with the development and roll out of Quality, Food Safety and Compliance strategies.
• That has experience of liaising directly with 3rd party customers.
• With a strong background in managing systems with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, excel) also able to use company specific applications (SAP, Email etc.)
• Thorough knowledge of BRC and AIB standards
  
  Where will I be working?
  
  We make more than just fries. Our Hull factory is where we produce all our cheese based appetisers. From Halloumi Sticks to Chilli Cheese Bites... it has just 3 production lines, but don’t be fooled as what it lacks in size, it makes up for in pace and personality, supplying thousands of products each day!
