Quality Assistant Jark Southend Ltd is looking for a Quality Controller for our client who are leader in their industry and well-known brand. Company is based in Rainham, Essex. Starting salary £11 p/h increasing to £13.42 after 12 weeks. Working hours: 6.00 -14.00 and 14.00-22.00 based on rotating shift. Candidates must be flexible as might be asked to work day shift 9.00 - 17.30 as well.We offer FREE LUNCHES, spacious, fully equipped canteen, and free car parking.Additionally we offer enhanced pay rates, paid breaks and additional holiday pay after completing 12 weeks. Contract duration: 1 year. Immediate start for the right candidate!The Job Role:
  • Monitoring production activities to ensure product is being processed to the required specification. This will include quality checks, quality checks, pack weight control and metal detector/X-ray machine performance.
  • Managing own shift once training is completed and raise awareness to both QA and technical team if any issues identified within shift.
  • Preparing samples for analysis, recording details and arranging for them to be sent to the required laboratory, recording results when received.
  • If not required in QA department, assisting the Technical Controller with general administrational duties.
  • Responding and dealing with general customer/consumer product enquiries received online, telephone, social media and letter. The Candidate:
  • Someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, hardworking, driven and self-motivated with a desire to learn
  • Experience in a Technical/Quality Assurance role is preferred, training will be provided for the successful candidate.
  • Food science degree will be a plus
  • To have a general knowledge of food safety, pest control background would also be advantageous
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
