Job Description

The role

As a key part of our Governance & Controls department, we are looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead a team of QA Analysts to deliver first-class quality assurance.

The QA manager will continually challenge and strengthen our quality assurance approach & principles, working collaboratively across Hiscox to ensure the QA framework is embedded and delivered successfully.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead the ongoing development and strengthening of the existing QA strategy, using principles of continuous improvement to support the delivery of good customer outcomes
  • Lead the development and execution of an integrated line 1 quality framework with other Line 1 quality teams
  • Support the development and execution of Customer Outcomes Testing
  • Develop and enhance a quality mindset across the business
  • Line manage a team of QA Analysts, building & embedding a customer focused / conduct risk culture
  • Operate a risk-based approach to deploy the QA framework with focus on known failure points / processes, building an ongoing cycle of continuous improvement
  • Work closely with our front line business colleagues, providing feedback, ongoing development and training
  • Run Deep Dives and thematic review activities, ensuring quality is embedded across the change lifecycle
  • Ensure MI and feedback from reviews and insights is relevant, timely and impactful.
  • Develop and implement a suite of customer / conduct indicators based on a risk approach to delivering good customer outcomes
  • Working closely with compliance, monitor the ongoing regulatory developments to ensure that QA is able to deliver emerging requirements in a timely fashion
  • Plan and coordinate an annual risk based QA plan and ensure plan delivery
Person Specification

Our must haves
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with significant industry-related experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of QA and / or quality management techniques and standards, along with experience of acting as an independent reviewer / tester
  • Excellent management capability in building effective teams
  • Experience of delivering a robust QA framework that delivers value to the business, enhances proactive risk management and delivers great customer outcomes
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills, with ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders at different levels
  • Able to effectively navigate difficult issues through adaptation of style and approach
  • Strong report writing skills, able to clearly explain failure points and improvement opportunities
  • Delivered programmes to understand customer outcomes, drivers, problems and delivered initiatives to drive significant improvements
  • Knowledge and experience of working with various regulators
  • Track record of contributing to the strategic priorities of the business
