Kameo Recruitment is partnering with a large manufacturing company based in Ely. They are recruiting for an experienced and dynamic Purchasing & Planning Co-ordinator. This is a newly created, varied, and evolving role where you will be integral to all areas of purchasing, planning, and negotiating. This role will be well-suited to a goal driven team player with relevant experience.

Duties & Responsibilities Of The Purchasing & Planning Co-ordinator
  • First point of call for the sales team, dealing with quotation requests, managing customer orders, and maintaining regular communications regarding the progress of orders.
  • Negotiating specific target prices with new and existing suppliers and ensuring lead times are achieved.
  • Support supplier selection process.
  • Create and maintain long-term partnerships with suppliers.
  • Regularly review and maintain key data with the internal ERP system.
  • Regular face to face or virtual reviews with vendors.
  • Regular production of reports to demonstrate activity and order process.
  • Managing the procurement production activities, and production & purchase order input and tracking.
  • Liaising with departments internally to ensure order requirements are met.
  • To identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements For This Role
  • Purchasing, planning, or scheduling experience is essential.
  • Negotiation experience.
  • Vendor account management experience.
  • A working background in a manufacturing / engineering industry would be advantageous Experience using ERP / Supply Chain software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and positive approach to problem resolution.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with high attention to detail.
