Our prestigious client has requirement for a Purchasing Materials Controller to join their Manufacturing Team, based in Telford.

The role will focus business processes on accurate recording of inventory movements and balances. Routine physical inventory checks will be scheduled and recorded in line with expectations of External Auditors and Group Internal controls. Root causes of book to physical inventory variances will be investigated and challenged with operational processes to generate accurate ERP records.

The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and or experience:
  • Ensuring compliance with Inventory requirements.
  • Warehouse quarantine stock bonding and reporting.
  • Liaising with Stock Controllers, Managers and the retail team to ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Inventory control and valuation including biannual stock take and periodical analysis.
  • Provision of support to internal and external audit teams
  • Ensuring SCM team has adequate visibility on supplier fault losses to take appropriate action.
  • Ensuring the appropriate treatment of returns.
  • Development of security controls around inventory moving through Company processes.
  • Ensuring Purchased parts are delivered on time from an external supplier base.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently and react quickly to sudden changes in demand.
  • Ensuring zero production disruption and ensure optimum stock levels at all times.
The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and/or experiences:
  • Meticulous approach to stock control seeking 100% accuracy.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and weaknesses within business processes and suggest improvements.
  • Capable of undertaking ad-hoc analysis and project work without supervision.
  • Confident communicator and able to challenge operational processes and follow issues through to conclusion.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual.
  • Computer literacy – An understanding of Microsoft software Excel/Word & outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in dealing with UK suppliers and overseas.
  • Knowledge of tropos system .
  • Knowledge/understanding of MRP.
  • Experience of working in a volume manufacturing environment.
  • A right first time and quality approach.
The working hours for this role are Monday to Thursday 7am – 3.30 Friday 7am – 12.00pm.

In return you will be paid an annual Salary of circa £25,000 per annum

This position is Permanent.
