Overview of the role
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger to join our knowledgeable Finance team. This role will be working alongside our Accountant and our Financial Controller to ensure the smooth running of our invoicing system. You will also be expected to post bank payments into our Accountancy Software, answer the phone for accounts queries, request statements from suppliers and match PO’s to invoices. This role will be working on a hybrid model with your base being our site in Whiteley.
Duties and responsibilities of our Purchase Ledger Clerk:
- Process invoices and credit notes through capture or batching.
- Match invoices to PO’s
- Dispute invoices and credit notes.
- Pay suppliers for invoices and credit notes on time.
- Post bank payments into Access.
- Answer the phone for accounts queries.
- Request statements from suppliers.
- Reconcile supplier accounts to statements.
- Respond to email queries in a timely manner.
- Open the post in the office.
- Cover sales ledger when required.

Your previous experience:
- Purchase Ledger experience of at least 12 months
- Experience on a accounting software (Ideally Access but not essential)
- Excel Experience
- Ideally AAT Level 3 or working experience in the role
