HR Advisor


This role will mostly be home based with travel into our Manchester office once a week

Clarity provides global Corporate Travel Management and conference and events services to organisations in the United Kingdom and worldwide. Clarity has a turnover in excess of £500m per annum, and is a global, multi award winning, UK top 10 Travel Management Company.


We are currently looking for an experienced HR Advisor to pro-actively support the business and take a key role in our HR team. Reporting into our Group Head of HR you will use your advisory and employment law experience to deliver an efficient and effective HR support and advisory service by providing second line support on all people related issues.


No two days are the same, but on a typical day you will;


  • Build trusted relationships with line managers, developing a thorough knowledge and understanding of the wider organisational context, the relevant external environment, and the consequent people implications.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on performance issues including Disciplinaries, TUPE transfers, restructures and lead the meetings as required.
  • Provide advice and guidance to employees on issues including maternities, flexible working, processes and terms and conditions.
  • Provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals, absence management issues and return to work cases to managers.
  • Provide clear and substantiated advice on the HR implications of business activities – either verbally or in writing to produce succinct correspondence and reports.
  • Persuade, influence and, when appropriate, challenge with tact and diplomacy
  • Create a culture in line with Company values
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices and coach and support other members of the team
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of current Employment Law and Policies & Procedures
  • Work with wider teams such as Recruitment, Payroll and Facilities ensuring collaboration and effective flow of information to complete all processes.

To be successful in this role you will


  • Have strong knowledge of HR best practice, employment legislation and HR polices with hands-on experience of dealing with HR.
  • Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work within a pressured environment.
  • Have the ability to provide the appropriate level of answers, explanations and guidance to delegates and internal customers.
  • Be able to respond to changing business needs and reprioritise own time accordingly.
  • Ensure team work is maintained.
