We are looking for a qualified NURSE, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST or SOCIAL WORKER to work in this exciting psychological role.Newham is well known for its innovative and responsive mental health services. Psychological services in the Borough deliver a highly regarded service to a number of primary, secondary and tertiary care settings. The service is characterised by reflective practice, service development and its commitment to supervision, support and CPD.
Secondary Care Psychological Services are in Step 4 aiming to meet the psychological needs of users of adult mental health services who have complex and severe mental health problems. The service aims to lead in creating a psychologically literate workforce across services in the London Borough of Newham and to bring a psychological perspective to the work of individuals, teams and systems. It focuses both on evidence-based clinical excellence and developing practice-based evidence relevant to meeting the needs of a very diverse population.
- Manage a personal caseload providing psychosocial assessment and interventions within their level of competence (family interventions and CBT informed interventions) in consultation with the CMHT clinical psychologists, and as agreed with NCRT Manager, within the set referral criteria in line with the NICE guidance, under appropriate clinical supervision
- Act as care co-ordinator with an agreed number of NCRT service-users in line with CPA Policy for up to 2 sessions per week (Maximum of 5). Clients to be agreed by clinical and professional supervisor and NCRT team leader in line with the care co-ordination protocol. Post-holder will be responsible for maintaining clear boundaries between conflicting demands of the two aspects of the job.
- • Establish joint and/or co-working practice with NCRT team members for psychological interventions for service users as appropriate.Ensure a seamless approach by liaising with other professionals as requiredImplement and evaluate high quality packages or service user centred care, as required.
- Participate in setting up and running of groups in collaboration with other team members
