RoleThe role will in particular support service change and innovative developments across a range of portfolios as followsThe Project Manager role will provide expert project management support on a portfolio of projects, identified as part of WHSSCs Integrated Commissioning Plan, which in turn informs the IMTPs of the 7 Health Boards in Wales.

  • Specialist Services Commissioning for Cardiac Services
  • Specialist Services Commissioning for Cancer and Blood
  • Specialist Services Commissioning for Mental Health
  • Specialist Services Commissioning for Neurosciences
  • Specialist Services Commissioning for Paediatrics.
The role will also be required to support a number of work streams as part of the cross cutting themes programme.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.The role will enable the development of plans, documentation and guidance for relevant project teams together with ensuring that communication is maintained between all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, organisational procedures are adhered to, objectives are identified and met, and benefits realised from the implementation of the change.The Project Manager’s prime responsibility is to ensure that assigned projects produce the required deliverables within the defined quality, time and cost constraints and to facilitate full realisation of benefits defined in the Business Case/commissioning intent through the application of project management methodology and techniques.The role sits within a Project Management Office and will provide support to the PMO work programme. In addition the post holder will be required to support the named service lead/Senior Responsible Officer for specific projects assigned to them.WHSSC works on behalf of the 7 Health Boards in Wales to commission specialist services for the welsh population.
