An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to undertake the role of a progressive Band 6/7 Trauma and Orthopaedic Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) post for Trauma and Orthopaedic services at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital (RGH). Candidates with and without existing Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) qualifications or relevant nurse practitioner qualifications will be considered. These candidates will progress from Band 6 practitioner to Band 7 with completion of ACP Masters MSc, Independent prescribing qualifications and clinical competencies.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who has experience of Trauma and Orthopaedic care and is keen to assist in developing the service for the future.

The post holder must be an experienced registered practitioner, ideally trauma and orthopaedic experience, able to work independently using good communication and organisational skills to ensure that patients are treated efficiently and effectively.

Completion of MSc and designated competencies will support the successful candidate to work as an autonomous practitioner, assessing individual patients, determine a differential diagnosis, initiate investigations and initiate appropriate evidence based treatment and discharge or refer patients in accordance with agreed clinical guidelines.

This role will require the need to coordinate patient flow through the Orthopaedic trauma pathway which includes, Orthopaedic expected and emergency patients. Providing specialist knowledge within Orthopaedic Trauma, working proactively with the Trauma and orthopaedic teams to develop and deliver the service. There is an expectation that the post-holder will play a key part in staff education, support and development across the MDT.

The post holder will be working as part of the Trauma and Orthopaedic team, providing a consistent high quality service and clinical evidence based care whilst ensuring a positive learning environment for all staff.
