Job Profile for Project Manager - DM263954Our client, a multidisciplinary practice, based in Taunton are seeking a Project Manager to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Assistant Project Manager looking for a step up, or an experienced Project Manager to join an ambitious practice with a wide portfolio of well-known clients.The successful Project Manager will be working within a practice that work on various large-scale projects predominantly within the healthcare, educational, residential and leisure sectors. They have a large portfolio of clients and pride themselves on their quality of service. Our client is open to the experience level of the successful candidate and Project Managers of all levels are welcome to apply. The successful Project Manager will assist in the delivery of challenging and exciting projects for our clients varied client base. This role is a challenging position, which requires an individual with a minimum of 3 years of working in a project management role with a proven track record in the complete delivery of building projects from start to finish, good communication skills and leadership qualities.Our client is offering an excellent opportunity to join a busy, thriving office that offers the chance to work within multiple different sectors at a consultancy with excellent career prospects.Project ManagerPosition Overview
  • Taking the overall responsibility to deliver a completed project in the role of Project Manager working alongside the Commercial Manager/ QS and other professionals on projects
  • Close liaison and co-ordination of the Design Team and Contractors as required
  • Close Client liaison and Client relationship development.
  • Monitoring of programmes to ensure that all key dates are achieved, checking quality of workmanship on site and compliance with contract drawings/specifications
  • Overseeing the snagging and handover process
  • Managing any post completion issues raised during the defects period to ensure these are resolved quickly and to the required quality
  • Liaison with Clients and Design Team members to clarify brief, etc.
  • Arranging surveys and site investigations
  • Attending Design Team meetings & co-ordinating the design process/team
  • Overseeing & assisting with the Tender Process - liaising with Contractors and Design Team members to resolve queries
  • Assisting with the Contractor’s selection process and attending the Pre-Commencement meeting
Project ManagerPosition Requirements
  • 3 years + experience within the construction industry
  • Relevant qualifications and certificates
  • Good client liaison skills
  • Driving licence and happy to travel to sites across the SW region
  • Be a proactive member of the professional project team
  • Good understanding of construction processes
  • Effective leader and communicator
  • Prior experience Chairing Project Progress meetings
  • Consultancy experience is not essential for this position
