You’ll be based at a leading facility that specialises in product design, development, testing, and manufacturing. It serves as the primary European Sales, Design, and Development centre for heat exchange, engine tubing, and exhaust flexible products. The centre is dedicated to providing customers with the latest technologies and offers unique and diverse engineering solutions for these three product groups.

The centre’s expertise lies in designing, developing, and manufacturing solutions for combustion, hybrid, and electric drive trains. Additionally, they provide high-performance and efficient heat ex-changers for fuel cell energy applications.

As an ISO 9001 certified company, they offer comprehensive solutions from design concept to high-volume manufacturing. They collaborate with renowned global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and supply a range of world-class products through their global network of companies.

The centre takes a meticulous approach to meet customers’ requirements and delivers tailor-made solutions that provide genuine value. Their products are designed using advanced techniques like Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Furthermore, these products undergo rigorous testing in their test and development department to ensure exceptional performance, durability, and long-term functionality.

Job Description

The key responsibilities of the role include:


  • Project Management: Take charge of projects from the initial inquiry stage to production, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. This involves managing the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) system and team, meeting customer targets, controlling expenditure, and organising effective meetings and reviews.


  • Design and Validation Plan: Oversee the design and validation plan for new projects, ensuring that all necessary steps and processes are followed to meet project requirements.


  • Customer RFQ Response: Support the new business development team by assisting in the preparation of commercial and technical responses to customer Requests for Quotation (RFQ). This includes populating the Customer Engineering Release (CER) and providing necessary input.


  • Cost Reduction Programs: Develop cost reduction programs aligned with customer expectations to improve efficiency and profitability.


  • Customer Interface: Act as the main point of contact with customers within the APQP process, coordinating with engineering, purchasing, quality, and logistics functions to ensure smooth communication and alignment.


  • Customer Relationship Development: Build and nurture a network of contacts within the existing customer base during the APQP process. Leverage this network to identify new business opportunities and promote the product offering of the company.


  • Supplier Development: Assist the Buyer in developing existing and new suppliers, ensuring that they meet the requirements of the APQP/programme.


  • Administrative Tasks: Complete any necessary administrative tasks related to the role.


  • Marketing Support: When required, provide support for marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events to promote the company’s products and services.

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate for the position should possess the following credentials:


  • Education: Ideally, the candidate should hold a Mechanical Engineering (BEng) degree or a related field, providing a solid foundation in engineering principles and practices.


  • Project Management Experience: The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in a relevant field such as automotive or land vehicles. This experience demonstrates the ability to effectively oversee projects from start to finish.


  • Health and Safety: The candidate must prioritise and maintain a high standard of health and safety, adhering to safe working practices and supporting environmental initiatives.


  • Customer Service Orientation: The candidate should possess strong communication skills and actively contribute to embedding customer service imperatives across various functions of the business. This entails understanding and meeting customer needs and expectations.


  • Collaboration: The candidate should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with other Senior Plc businesses, ensuring that revenue generation opportunities are maximised through coordinated efforts.


  • Compliance: It is important for the candidate to ensure that all work activities and records align with Company Policies, Procedures, and Codes of Practice, ensuring adherence to organisational guidelines.


  • Project Management Skills: Excellent project management skills are essential for overseeing and successfully delivering projects within the given time and budget constraints.


  • Soft Skills: The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of human behaviour. They should demonstrate self-awareness and the ability to react appropriately in various situations, showing political astuteness.
