Job Description


We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our busy and expanding Real Estate team in Edinburgh to support project management commissions in the Defence sector across Scotland.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • To support Construction Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex projects specifically in the Defence sector.
  • To ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive experience in a Construction Project Management position
  • Recent Ministry of Defence project experience (either directly or within a framework) in high hazard / high integrity environments
  • Understanding of MOD service publications (JSP etc)
  • Familiarity with Service abbreviations and general overview of structures:
    • Ranks
    • Posts
    • Top Level Budget (TLBs)
  • Management of suppliers and stakeholders
  • Awareness of various contracting methodologies (FIDI /JCT etc...)
  • Understanding of RIBA processes
  • Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out
  • Governance and risk control frameworks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently, diligent and with an eye for detail
  • Ability to produce formal reports and documents which clearly set out complex issues and recommendations
  • Minimum SC (Security Clearance)
  • British National

Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline
  • Chartered Status (or working towards) with the RICS, CIOB, APM, Prince 2 or other equivalent institution
