We currently have multiple opportunities for Program Managers within our Service Transition Management team. We’re currently working from home but, post-pandemic, these will be hybrid roles with the opportunity to combine working remotely with working at our modern, state of the art offices in Nottingham City Centre which have excellent transport links and the type of working environment you’d associate with an innovative technology company.

About the roles

As a Program Manager within Service Transition Management, you’ll work alongside project delivery teams. Leading larger projects and managing a portfolio, your brief, fundamentally, will be to ensure that planned technology changes are incorporated effectively by our Client Service teams and other colleagues to optimise the intended benefits to the business and to our clients.

It’s a highly visible role and you’ll be responsible for all aspects of planning, organizing and preparing the business to be able to accept and deliver the service that is being released or deployed. You’ll need to follow the transition process and develop a thorough understanding of the service which is to be implemented, the teams and third parties impacted and those responsible for the delivery of the service, managing the changes to those teams to ensure the successful delivery and approval of both the technical and operational aspects of the project.

Collaborating extensively, you’ll follow a project methodology, utilizing your skills as a project manager to understand the expected business value and outcomes, formalize the scope, manage your stakeholders, secure the resources, manage a plan, report on progress, manage risks and issues, take responsibility for escalation and achieve the delivery against the acceptance criteria. Each program/project varies in complexity and each has its own unique challenges, whether it involves managing updates, complex transitions, new service implementations or decommissions.

What you’ll be doing

As a Program Manager you’ll be expected to represent the team and:

  • Show leadership and take responsibility for service implementation on complex projects, situations and escalations.
  • Work to define appropriate acceptance criteria and track task completion to achieve approval.
  • Provide business process re-engineering and project management skills to the management of strategic development projects across Calyx.
  • Assist the Director, Service Transition Management in the efficient management of the Calyx project portfolio and provide regular updates to Senior Management.
  • Engage with the appropriate groups to establish stakeholders, plan service delivery and resolve issues when they are identified.
  • Ensure risk analysis and other basic project management processes for each project are completed and maintained.
  • Work to implement continuous improvements to the Service Transition process and deliverables.

What we’d like you to have

Successful Program ManagerswithinService Transition Managementat Calyx typically demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Extensive project / program management experience with a focus on managing changes into service or relevant project / program management experience in a managed-service environment
  • Proven expertise in professional project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Broad knowledge of IT product development, software development and IT service delivery
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience desirable
  • ITIL qualification or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable experience of a collaborative attitude to working with colleagues across cultures and time-zones.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with team communication and positive stakeholder management.
