Marine Engineering & Systems – T31

The Production Zone Manager role is based within our Marine Engineering & Systems – T31 business area

Babcock is rapidly establishing itself as an international Naval ship designer and builder. We have built on the success of the UK MoD Type 31 Frigate and have secured contracts for frigate export variants (AH140) with overseas customers. As well as supporting exports of frigates the engineering team is actively working on other ship newbuild and life extension programs around the world, from small fast attack craft all the way up to aircraft carriers.

The difference our new Production Zone Manager will make

As a Production Zone Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Leading and managing several operational teams consisting of technicians or operatives

Day to day, you’ll Lead, coordinate and control one or several teams such that staff are developed, utilised, and deployed effectively, employee performance & motivation is maximised to meet organisational standards and requirements, develop and implement plans, approaches, schedules, and improvement programmes to deliver ongoing monthly, quarterly, and annual kpi’s, sla’s and objectives for your zone, oversee the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of operational methods, processes, and systems for new and existing products. You will also ensure the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products to schedule at minimum cost, you will liaise with engineering, supply chain and other internal functional departments in releasing new products, materials, equipment, facilities, and process updates to ensure appropriate testing and introduction of improvements and changes while maintaining continuity and achievement of schedules. Monitor operational performance and identify performance improvement initiates for the unit, work with internal and external resources to define and deliver operational performance improvement and ensure all system-based records are fully up to date and reports, plans and schedules are implemented in the production environment to meet all schedule requirements
