Main purpose of the role At Safeguard SVP were looking for a professional candidate, that will supervise a team of technicians, working on & maintaining new and on-going projects. As our supervisor your duties will vary depending on the complexity of the projects you are leading on. In addition, you will be responsible for addressing concerns and issues of the workforce. You will be accountable for the utilisation and productivity of the shopfloor. This is a customer facing role and you will be involved in all aspects of the project. The role requires someone to work closely with internal departments and transfer information from the sales documents and produce work instruction documentation for all production areas. Duties & responsibilities-Supervision of manpower and allocation of work in an efficient and cost-effective way on a day-to-day basis.
  • Control and motivate staff to eliminate time wasting and to achieve maximum potential from production staff.
  • To ensure all products are to the highest standard to technical and customer requirements and are ‘passed off’ before movement to other departments.
  • Work with other departments to improve quality, efficiency and processes.
  • Overtime working is monitored and only worked when required.
  • Timesheets are completed correctly and presented on time.
  • Absenteeism is monitored in line with Company rules
  • Ensure Quality procedures and records are kept up to date in line with Company procedures.
  • Involvement in the recruitment process, local interview in area
  • Ensure working areas are kept clean and tidy to meet all health and safety requirements.
  • Issue job specs and run through any details of the build that are unsure
  • Chase up parts shortages where required
  • Monitor hours taken against given jobs daily
  • Keep an up-to-date production efficiency dashboard including Work in Progress records, and report into the line manager each day
  • Produce reports (where required) detailing job efficiency and quantity of snags per job
  • Monitor and report on shopfloor utilisations and track diversions being booked
  • Identify and promote high achievers within the team Health & Safety Responsibility Responsible and accountable for:
  • Management and supervision of HS&E within their defined areas of responsibility
  • Delivery of safety stand down Talks to department employees, The accurate recording of Accident and Near Misses
  • Identification of hazards and risk assessment development/review
  • Effective supervision of employees to ensure that the Health and Safety Legislative and Company Health standards are maintained at all times, Monitoring of conditions, standards / control measures
  • Supporting the recording and investigation of HSE events in accordance with the company guidelines, Ensure that all employees are familiar with the emergency evacuation and accident reporting procedures within their relevant department. Key Competences Required Essential
  • Experience in vehicle integration conversions
  • Auto Electrical knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office suite. Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience in leading people and managing tasks.
  • Experience in decision making in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of engineering industrial standards Desirable Knowledge of quality management systems including ISO 9001:2015
