About Our Client

The client is a successful FMCG manufacturer based in Doncaster and Rotherham. The position has come about due to the significant expansion and winning new contracts.

Job Description

The Production Shift Manager will be based across Doncaster and Rotherham and will work morning’s and afters and manage their time/responsibilities based on what the site needs are. They will have:

  • Overall responsibility for the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness, of Production
  • Responsible for establishing and authorising (within budget) an effective man-power plan to achieve production levels to meet customer demand
  • Maintain a disciplined and consistent workforce - ensuring procedural requirements are always adhered to - this is achieved through the development and implementation of effective training (inc. training material) and continual performance appraisals
  • Conduct disciplinary/performance related processes
  • Strategic responsibility for the planning and implementation of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, Food Safety legislation and other industry standard requirements
  • Strategic responsibility for the planning and implementation of an effective quality management system to the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 Food Safety Management
  • Provide weekly and monthly operational performance reports to inform on the overall progress and performance of production processes
  • Responsible Person for the site Emergency Plan (fire precautions)
  • Ensure adequate levels of materials required to operate are purchased and available when required
  • Responsible for site security
  • Responsible for waste management
  • Providing cover during holidays within the Leadership Team (eg maintenance support and/or Operations Management across all CPL sites, as needed)

The Successful Applicant

The successful Production Shift Manager will have:

  • Strong Production Shift Management experience - strong leadership skills training new teams
  • IOSH/NEBOSH is desirable
  • Budget responsibility
  • Project management
  • Responsible for the overall management and implementation of health and safety, food safety and quality standards and procedures
  • Risk assessments, preparing and monitoring
