Job Title:Production Assistant/ FLT Driver (PERMANENT)

Location:Cullompton

Salary: £23,270.69 per annum. You will receive time and half when working saturday’s and double time when working sunday’s. If you complete all your shifts with 100% attendance you will receive £60 a month on top of your salary

Hours: 2 day shifts 6am - 6pm 2 night shifts 6pm-6am then 2 days off.

Our very well established client in Cullompton has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Production Assistant/ FLT Driver in a busy environment on a permanent basis.

This Company has a shut period of 10 days every month to allow engineers to fully maintain the machines. Successful candidates will be able to organise their holiday during their shut down period.

During the 10 days when the company is shut, all candidates will be fully paid for the time they are off as the pay is calculated on an annual basis.

Job Scope

Working as part of the production team and on own initiative to ensure all customer orders are completed on time and assisting with production operations while adhering to Company Health & Safety procedures at all times. Providing support to the supply chain through collecting, loading, shipping and receiving warehouse products, optimising loading for

efficient logistics and supporting other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the Company.

Role
  • Provide support to the supply chain through collecting, loading, shipping and receiving warehouse products.
  • Responsible for operating technical equipment
  • Optimising loading for efficient logistics
  • Supporting other business functions to ensure optimal operation of the Company.
  • Moving delivered products from vehicles/lorries into the warehouse/storage
  • Stacking and palletising
  • Utilising other equipment types if when trained and licenced to do so, including cherry-pickers, clamp and reach forklifts pallet jacks and MEWP.
  • Adhere to the Company Fork Lift Truck Policy
  • Follow quality and customer service standards set forth by the company
  • Inspect and perform maintenance of forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Complete forklift check sheets daily before use
  • Identify safety hazards in the workplace
  • Support and assist all Company logistics and Logistics Manager
  • To assist fellow shift members with the operation of the paper machine.
  • To cover all training within the department
  • To inform Shift Manager of any problems that may arise
  • Ensuring all wastage is removed effectively and efficiently
Person Specification
  • Able to work on your own as well as in a team environment
  • To be aware of all aspects of Health & Safety and Safe Systems of Work
  • Previous experience working within a Production / Manufacturing environment
  • Must adhere to company policy standards
  • High attention to detail and inform Company or client of any mistakes or concerns
  • Possess excellent planning and problem solving skills
  • Be able to follow instructions and adhere to procedures at all times
  • Be confident and to ask for clarification where there is uncertainty
  • Be resilient and take on responsibility while demonstrating integrity and honesty in performing job role
  • Attend work or client sites, on time, and provide first class service to the business or client
  • Have good literacy skills and to be able to record information accurately on all relevant documentation as business and client needs dictate
