The Yale Retail business unit have an exciting new opportunity for a Product Manager reporting to the Head of Product Management.


Would you like to work with the Yale Retail team and support them on product management and development activities across both Yale UK Mechanical and Smart product portfolios. You will have responsibility for a specific portfolio of products (e.g. Doormaster) ensuring all sales and profitability targets are met and that the range meets the ongoing needs of its Customers and end users through the launch of innovative new products and effective management of the Marketing mix.

Main responsibilities and Challenges

  • Perform Competitor analysis and make recommendations across all segments, based upon the data retrieved.
  • To ensure VAVE analysis is undertaken for all products within your portfolio.
  • To support in the development, implementation, monitoring of annual product plans.
  • To support in the development, management and improvement of existing product ranges in order to maximize sales and profitability, across both Smart and Mechanical portfolios.
  • To develop and utilize a thorough understanding of the market, competitor activity and consumer buying behaviours.
  • To become the expert and main point of reference for your specific product portfolio.
  • To support in the day to day management of pricing and promotional strategies
  • Responsibility for maintenance & updating of the PIM Tool (for product information feeds to customers).
  • Alpha/Beta testing trial arrangement and management
  • Understand and support in the attaining of standards and certification.

  • Understand, proactively embrace and positively act in accordance with our code of conduct.
  • Ensure completion of all relevant compliance training and procedures.
  • Assist with on-boarding of new staff into the business by helping with Training and providing information and assistance.
  • Take pro-active responsibility for the improvement of KPI’s by providing data to Management and actions plans for improvement.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Background knowledge and experience in Consumer or Trade.

  • Preferably 2 years’+ product management experience working in a branded business within a consumer or trade environment.

  • Manufacturing Experience preferred, but not essential.
