Job Description

We are looking for a Product Manager (Security Program Vulnerability Patching) to join Airbus Defence & Space, either based out of Newport or Stevenage.

This is a brand new role created due to the new program, RACES, being implemented. This means you get the opportunity to shape this role into your own and really put your mark on it

Please be advised, due to the sensitivity of this project, you will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance.

Tasks & Accountabilities

Your main responsibilities as Product Manager will be putting measures in place to assess vulnerability of potential Cyber Security breaches

Your main focus will be to increase the level of AD resilience against major cybersecurity threats

These threats have been analysed and are classified in four categories:

• High number of critical vulnerabilities existing our AD server base,
• Lack of monitoring of the Information Systems managed by the business (BOTs : Business Own Tools)
• High number of deviations granted for the business compared to the necessary security protections
• Lack of preparation in case of a successful ransomware attack
  
  

Working in small team, you will be working closely with Account Managers for certain clients as well as liaising with your counterparts in Europe to ensure all work and findings are being communicated across the European teams

The project will be tackling both short and long term targets and as such your tasks will include

• Updates the company guidelines and policies regarding the use of a specific technology or methodology.
• Drives the update of the learning framework based on the known technology.
• Advises on specific topics related to the technology and/or methodology.
• Monitors technology and/or methodology trends and support the teams to apply these within the Airbus Environment.
• Guides and supports the selection of the appropriate technologies and/or methodologies.
• Monitors technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.
• Able to make recommendations for buy versus build decisions.
• This role will involve frequent travel for business to other sites in the UK and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
  
  

Skills & Experience

You will have worked within IT for 3 + years, an IT related degree or higher education qualification such as a HNC would be an advantage but isn’t essential

We are keen to speak with people who have experience looking after IT Servers or Storage:

• Possesses a deep transferable knowledge of new and emerging technologies to contribute to future IT strategies and standards.
• Experience leading or managing a small team
• Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft, NetApp
  
  

Overview of Team

Airbus Defence is implementing the program RACES ( Reach AD Cyber Enhanced Security) to address the main Cyber Security Threats that are putting the business at risk.

The Project Will Tackle Short To Long Term Targets

• Recover from a highly risky situation to an acceptable one in a phased approach based on priorities; this phased approach is planned over 4 years and a priority management will allow to define intermediate targets in this period
• Ensure adequate organizational and resource evolutions to guarantee sustainability in the long term; once reached, the adequate level of protection from CyberSecurity threats will have to be maintained in the long term proves the value of new technologies to establish business cases.
