JOB SUMMARY:

Sensient Technologies is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of flavors, extracts and ingredients for use throughout the world. The Product Manager will be a strategic thinkerresponsible for identifying new product opportunities, improving product line profitability, and managing product lifecycles. You will manage pricing, and ultimately be responsible for driving revenue growth and supporting the overall European Sweet & Beverage strategy.

This position requires a high degree of collaboration with other functional areas including R&D, Applications Development, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations. We are seeking someone with excellent interpersonal skills, a deepunderstanding of value propositions, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

While a technical background is not required, the ability to discuss and direct technical discussions is imperative.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Product Strategy – In conjunction with the broader marketing and business teams, outline target market segments, customer groups, and overall new product strategy that will guide the product development process.
  • Market research – conduct ‘Voice of the Customer’ market research to inform strategy and develop effective product value propositions.
  • Value Proposition development – Define specific product value propositions and communicate the value proposition to internal R&D, supply chain, and commercial teams.
  • Product Definition – define key development parameters for products including targeted applications, stability requirements, cost-in-use targets, product form, and other features.
  • Product Lifecycle management – manage products through launch, growth, maturity, and decline stages. Specifically, guide procurement and operations through launch and growth phases by providing demand guidance. Conduct strategic SKU rationalization in collaboration with supply chain, application lab, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee innovation stage-gate process, optimizing speed to market while still ensuring that all key checklist activities are completed.
  • Develop pricing strategies and recommendations for all product platforms and market segments.
  • Develop data analytics dashboards and KPIs to analyze product performance and profitability in order to measure ROI.
  • Build relationships across the Flavors & Extracts organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Business degree (or equivalent) is required in Product Management, Marketing or a related field.
  • Experience with a manufacturer, preferably in the food ingredient or packaged food industries
  • Must be an analytical leader and self-starter who is seeking upward mobility
  • Must possess strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal. Should be a creative thinker, enjoy customer contact, team player and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
