We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, influential OFA Product Engineering Manager. This pivotal role will frame the technical strategy for the product line, lead the technical specification of products (including change requests) and is the ultimate technical authority responsible for approving out of limits operations and maintenance. You would lead OFA product management lifecycle support from a technical perspective.

Detailed technical product expertise and experience are essential but so is a wider understanding of how products interact to form customer solutions or applications. A broad view of industry trends, future technology and changing markets is important. So is an appreciation for commercialism: the requirement is to interpret the needs of the business to help develop and maintain a fleet of products which are both differentiated and competitive. Equally, success will rely on the ability to lead teams, communicate with impact and a willingness to collaborate across the internal global organization and with suppliers. We are looking for someone with product engineering experience in industry, preferably in rental markets or with OEM rental suppliers. You’ll be a strategic thinker with strong people leadership qualities.

Your key responsibilities:

• Technology prospecting
• Optimisation of existing products to meet changing market demands
• OFA product data integrity, including the timely delivery of work instructions for product installation, testing, servicing, maintenance & operation and including the required technical competencies
• Specification of new products which meet the design brief and deliver the required compliance, interoperability (across all relevant fleet and customer interfaces), fungibility, reliability, utilization, total cost of ownership and durability
• Lead functional engineers to deliver product development & introduction
• Define the development costs for a project and be responsible for making sure budget is not exceeded
• Identify intellectual property used in designs
• Enable continuity of enduring product knowledge
