The Company

This is a great opportunity to join a growing international business producing food products for a range of UK customers – brands and retail brand. Their products reach health conscious consumers who are looking for nutritionally sound but highly tasty products. They are looking for a Product Development Technologist to join their team on a 12 month maternity cover contract.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for developing new product ranges from concept to launch in line with the NPD strategy whilst incorporating customer brand values. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver products that meet the concept brief ensuring consideration of the flavour profile, texture, raw materials and nutritionals.

You’ll be working with suppliers to source new ingredients that match product specifications as well as food safety standards to ensure that all products are of the best levels of quality without compromising on taste. In addition you’ll produce theoretical nutritional specifications, conduct sensory analysis, benchmarking of products, factory trials and assisting with signing-off artwork from an NPD perspective.

The Person

We are looking for a NPD Technologist with a degree in Food Science / Food Nutrition with experience of developing ambient stable food products in a concept to launch NPD role, ideally for a brand or retail branded products.

Your experience will need to have covered all aspects of product development including process trials in the factory, working to nutritional and technical requirements.

You must also have excellent project management, organisation and communication skills in order to succeed in this varied role.
