We are currently hiring for a Product Designer to join Veygo on a permanent basis!

About Veygo

Veygo offer app-based flexible short-term car insurance. Whether it be learner driver insurance or temporary insurance, our customers can be on the road in the minutes. We’re building a vibrant, exciting, and disruptive scale-up, that puts customer experience and empowerment at the heart of our business and culture.

Veygo operates within Admiral Pioneer. Admiral Pioneer is a company within Admiral Group that seeds, launches, and scales new businesses that are at the forefront of Admiral Group’s diversification strategy.

The Role and Duties

At Veygo, we value design-led thinking and individuals who are passionate about delighting our customers. These individuals will be relentless in taking a user-centred design approach to problem solving. A real disruptor whose passion for design and delivering world class experiences is infectious.

You Will

  • Support design in a cross-functional team - you’ll be the primary product designer in a cross-functional team, working together to deliver a product that genuinely addresses customer needs while also achieving our overall desired business outcomes
  • Help us understand customer needs - you’ll help your team really get to know our customers and their needs. You’ll do this through facilitating user research such as user interviews and through synthesising and communicating the findings in a clear way that others can build on
  • Discover, deliver and iterate - you will participate in all phases of the product, from discovery to delivery to iteration, and will own all design deliverables, from initial user journey maps through to crafting pixel-perfect UI designs
  • Help us learn effectively - you’ll use your design skills to help us run well-designed experiments that test our assumptions, validate customer needs and identify the best performing solutions
  • Help us build our culture - you’ll champion a customer-centric approach to design, advocating for customer engagement and empathy, as well as promoting creativity and design quality in the organisation more generally

Skills

  • You are outcome-driven - you are passionate about understanding the value that your designs will actually deliver to the customer, and are driven to experiment until we have evidence that customers’ needs are being met. You also understand that our products exist in service of a business, and know how to incorporate business considerations and constraints into your work
  • You think deeply and holistically about the customer experience - you are naturally curious and ask questions so that you can design a cohesive overall experience for the customer. Whether that means investigating all the different customer touchpoints (web, app, emails etc), or understanding the customer’s experience over time
  • You show your work - you know how to clearly communicate the thinking and assumptions behind your design ideas and invite others to help make your thinking even better
  • You know how to collaborate - you understand the value of bringing in different perspectives, and are comfortable facilitating workshops and working collaboratively with product managers and developers, as well as other stakeholders
  • You know how to test ideas with real customers - you are familiar with a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including user interviews and A/B testing, and are constantly looking for opportunities to get your ideas out into the real world. You know how to generate prototypes quickly and run well-designed experiments to help your team learn effectively
  • You have strong interaction and visual design skills - you have a strong eye for visual design and interaction design details. You know how to create beautiful and usable UI designs that scale. You have experience working with design systems
  • You can tell us about where you’ve delivered impact in the past - you have a portfolio that includes examples of where you have helped to solve a real problem for a customer in the past
