We are looking to recruit a Product Engineer / Product Manager to join our Simulation Solutions & Services Engineering team on an initial 12 month contract.

You will hold key responsibility for ensuring products are compliant against internationally recognised Product Safety standards.

You will provide Subject Matter Expertise covering the following EU Directives and UK equivalents in support of Self Certification:

• Low Voltage
• Electromagnetic Compatibility
• Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment
• Regulation, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals
• Restriction of Hazardous Substances
• Machinery
• General Product Safety
• Construction
• Create & implement Product Safety Plans for Programs and Products to ensure that Product Safety is considered throughout the product lifecycle including:
• Identification of applicable regulatory standards
• Hazard & Risk identification & mitigation
• Testing and Qualification
• Approval
• Monitor EU directives & UK regulations
• Identify and communicate any applicable changes in Directives, Regulations, and Standards
• Ensure that Technical Files are created and maintained to support Self-Declaration of Product Safety
• Data sheets / OEM Safety Certificates
• Safety Reports
• Product Safety Certificates; Declaration of Conformity, Declaration of Incorporation

Basic Qualifications Required:

• Knowledge of Product Safety directives / regulations and standards for the EU and UK.
• Experienced in the implementation and execution of Product Safety Engineering activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree within an Engineering or Product Safety discipline or equivalent qualification or experience.

Please note that potential candidates will be subject to Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and background checks and that project access restrictions may apply to some nationalities.

In accordance with our ’Baseline Security’ requirements, will request from candidates evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK, and employment and/or education history for up to three years, in relation to certain roles within the business.

These relate to positions where access to export-controlled items, (e.g. Technical data, hardware, software, and services subject to international trade control laws and regulations) and internal IT Systems may apply.
