Our client is a successful organization operating in the pharmaceutical industry. They are a dynamic company with a strong track record, employing a significant workforce and achieving impressive sales figures. Currently, they are undergoing a period of growth and are seeking talented senior professionals to join their team. They are seeking an experienced and proactive individual for the position of Procurement Manager. This role requires expertise in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Life Sciences, or a similar field, along with familiarity in working within a service- oriented business with short cycles. As the Procurement Manager, you will take the lead in all commercial aspects of procurement, working closely with the company’s leadership team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including senior management, to align with the organization’s vision and commitment to patients and stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of four procurement specialists, ensuring efficient stock management and maximizing business effectiveness. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES-Develop and implement the organization’s procurement strategy and policy.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of four procurement specialists.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify market trends and requirements.
  • Forecast price trends and assess their impact on future activities.
  • Build market knowledge and establish contacts for new products and services.
  • Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements and monitor their progress, including service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Analyze forecast gap responses and proactively mitigate risks related to supply continuity.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers, internal departments, manufacturers, and customers.
  • Attend supplier meetings, trade conferences, and visit distribution centres.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers. REQUIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
  • Demonstrated expertise and advanced knowledge to develop innovative solutions for complex and unpredictable problems and situations.
  • Ability to apply specialized knowledge and conduct detailed analysis based on a wealth of information and understanding. A CIP’s qualification would be advantageous.
  • Deep technical knowledge and proactive approach in guiding the Procurement Team. REQUIRED QUALITIES
