Procurement Manager - Commercial Vehicles £35,000 per annumBased in Tividale, West Midlands

Our client is an AIM listed company operating commercial and subsidised bus routes for businesses, local authorities, the public and private individuals. They consist of 4 companies operating in the Heathrow, Midlands and North West regions, with the head office situated in Tividale, Oldbury.

They are a fast-growing organisation with an appetite to continually improve our processes and evolve.

Our client has also recently implemented a new procurement system and are looking for someone who can continue to support and help improve the group’s buying requirements. Most of their buying is focussed around engineering parts and services for around 700 vehicles.

This role would be based at head office, reporting to the Finance Director. Hours of work will be a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, due to the nature of the role you will be expected to work the hours necessary to meet the operational requirements from time to time.

They are looking for a Procurement Manager with drive and ambition who will think creatively about where to source supply. This is an exciting time to join the business and be a major part of the new procurement system. Experience in the commercial vehicle sector, specifically HGV or PSV is desirable.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Coordinate the new supplier onboarding process Liaise with suppliers to ensure that products / services are provided efficiently Liaise with suppliers to ensure product quality as well as lowest price is achieved, ie. value for money Coordinate tendering processes and provide recommendations to Directors and Managers Researching and negotiate new and existing supply Being creative and seeking new suppliers Support regional buyers and coordinate decisions with regional engineering managers regarding product selection Visit other sites to support and audit the buying / stock management activities of regional teams Liaise with Accounts to help resolve purchase order queries where required Facilitate reporting and detailed analysis of buying across the group Mandate of supply to the suppliers of choice using the procurement system Bring your expertise and sector knowledge to the group to enable cost and quality improvements

Experience / Requirements

Experience in a procurement / buying role Experience in HGV / PSV sector is desirable Capable of creating and building relations with internal and external stakeholders Proven experience of negotiation skills Ability to source and work with suppliers
