Role Category - the way you’ll work:

This role has been categorised ashome-based, meaning that you will work from home for the majority of the working week because you can fully deliver services in that way. Although you’ll be a home-based colleague, you might sometimes need to be physically present at another location or be expected to travel to a Thirteen hub for collaborative work.

The Role:

The role of Procurement Advisor provides administrative support to the Procurement team. Running quotations/ tenders is a key function of Procurement. As well as leading on quotations this role supports more complex tenders being led by other team members.

The role involves significant use of the e-procurement portal (In-tend) managing supplier access, ensuring tender documentation is uploaded and quality questions are entered as well as administering contract information. Previous use and knowledge of business systems is therefore important in being able to quickly become familiar with and use Thirteen’s procurement portal.

There are two Procurement Advisors in the Procurement team supported by an apprentice. Other key roles in the team include a Category Manager (risk management and contract support), two Senior Procurement Business Partners (managing procurement for Development and Asset service areas) and the Senior Procurement Manager who manages the team and leads on Procurement strategy for the business. The team is home based with regular contact with the team and wider organisation. We work collaboratively with all service areas.

The Person:

We are looking for someone who has a ‘can do’ attitude and a positive approach to problem solving as things don’t always run as smoothly as we would like.

We are a small team who all have vital roles in ensuring the procurement service is delivered therefore you will be able to work well in a team environment with great communication skills both verbal and written.

Additionally, reaching out to both external and internal customers (suppliers/colleagues) to respond to queries and assist in resolutions; with a good understanding of Value for Money principles and able to interpret and apply policies, procedures, guidelines and criteria to specific situations, is of up most importance.

You will have a drive to personally develop and progress with a professional qualification (CIPS); be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and have experience in completing data analysis and creating required formulas to manage data and compare. You will be able to quickly pick up or have some previous experience with software based systems (preferably financial systems and e-Procurement tender portals).

The future is exciting, and we only want the best to be part of it.
