Interested in joining a dynamic and growing 3PL as a Process Engineer where lots of engineering challenges await? Our engineering team, based in Hinckley, working on continuous improvements, operational efficiencies and layout, are looking for a motivated and experienced colleague with a strong background in supply chain management.


About the Role


How you will contribute


  • Facilitate & implement the application of lean and continuous improvement principles. Apply lean tools, including six sigma, standardized work, 5S, total productive maintenance, pull systems, value stream mapping, etc.
  • Develop plant / process layouts and / or improve existing layouts to maximize efficient use of space, equipment, and labor.
  • Establish and implement work standards through time studies and other accepted methods.
  • Assist the PM and Engineering manager to make informed decisions related to the purchase of equipment, including forklifts, tooling, lift assists, generators, compressed air systems, racking, sweepers/ scrubbers, compactors, and miscellaneous items pertaining to specific projects.
  • Recommend new and / or improve existing error proofing methods, technology and processes.
  • Obtain quotes, perform cost analysis, and manage contractors working on various installations and facility construction.
  • Help to track the project capital budget and report ongoing status to Engineering Manager and/or Project Manager.
  • Follow Company policies related to health and safety and environmental procedures.
  • Expected to continuously upgrade knowledge of new technologies applicable to the logistics industry as well as the most current operating “best practices” within syncreon logistics.
  • On time completion of projects.


Your Key Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations Research or related fields with very strong background in engineering redesign and cost savings initiatives.
  • Experience in solutions design within a logistics/warehousing/manufacturing facility environment.
  • Experience in supporting warehousing contracts with engineering expertise.
  • Experience in packaging and/or innovation.
  • Highly developed computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Visio or equivalent, and Project Management software are required. Knowledge of Excel should include pivot tables and familiarity with common formulas.
  • Hands on experience with supply chain applications such as WMS, TMS, OMS, and SCM.
  • A flexible approach to working hours is a requirement
