Our client a leading UK professional advisory firm provides integrated financial and legal services for a range of private clients, family offices, charities and businesses.

Due to the continued expansion of the business the firm is seeking to recruit a Private Client solicitor to join the Private Law team based in the Leeds or Manchester offices with flexible working arrangements.

The role:
To provide legal advice on a variety of complex client matters, including wills and succession, IHT, drafting and advice in respect of trusts, and probate advice, as well as working closely with colleagues in the Wealth Management team for the benefit of mutual clients

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on the law and legal issues relating to their cases.
  • Arrange and conduct meetings with new and existing clients to establish the necessary advice and services, based on the client’s needs.
  • Instructing barristers or specialist advocates to appear in court for the client in complex disputes.
  • Drafting of documents, letters and contracts tailored to the client’s individual needs.
  • Delivery of agreed billing and other targets in accordance with departmental and personal financial controls/budgets.
  • Keeping up to date on legislative, regulatory, and client-related developments, changes, and trends.
  • Support the development and reputation of the Firm through external involvement in professional organisations and internal contribution at departmental and practice levels.
  • Support the training and development of Trainee Solicitors and Paralegals

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Solicitor
  • Private Practice or in-house experience in Private Client work essential
  • Proven track record in taking a lead role with high-net-worth clients
  • Knowledge and experience of the Private Client legal area with TEP membership a plus
  • Consistently deliver high-quality legal services through appropriate monitoring and management of own personal training and development.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships within all aspects of the business.
  • Ability to always exercise discretion and professionalism.
  • Work diligently and in good faith within the general working practices required of a qualified solicitor.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, whilst being able to work efficiently on own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
