With a budget of around £270m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting into this new staff support post, which has been funded as a result of financial support from our regional ICS to continue the excellent work this department has undertaken in providing staff support over the last 12 months as a result of the pandemic. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivery of ’trauma informed care’ and in working with staff to support their mental health.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work as a member of the team contributing to patient and staff care within the trust and support the head of psychology in her role delivering support to staff across the trust. You will work closely with colleagues in occupational health, organisational development, chaplaincy and others in this important endeavour.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

We require a motivated individual with good clinical skills and knowledge in the area . The applicant will have good interpersonal skills and an ability to work well as part of a team. They will also have good computer skills and competence in using digital technology. Hours of work will be predominantly 09.00 – 17.00, Monday to Wednesday.

The interviews will be held on 28th June 2021 within the Department of Psychology, University Hospital of Hartlepool, Ward 6, Floor 3. A power point presentation lasting 10 minutes should be prepared by those shortlisted for interview, further details to be given upon shortlisting.

Psychology Degree

Essential Criteria
  • Achieved a minimum degree mark of 2:1
Desirable criteria
  • Achieved a diploma or Masters in a relevant field of study
Doctoral training

Essential Criteria
  • Has completed a clinical or counselling doctoral level training in compliance with BPS/HCPC
Desirable criteria
  • Has published work or presented their work at conferences
Post qualification

Essential Criteria
  • Achieved 2 or more years experience post qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Good experience working within a neurodevelopmental service
Therapeutic models

Essential Criteria
  • Understaken post qualification training in a specific therapeutic model/approach
Desirable criteria
  • Undertaken additional training in ASD assessment tools, i.e. ADOS
Essential Criteria

Experience of MDT working
  • Experience of working within an MDT setting as the core psychologist
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a neurodevelopmental service
