A fantastic opportunity has arisen to manage the clinical psychology service for one of the country’s leading bariatric and weight management services embedded within a dedicated, warm, friendly and supportive MDT based at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.

This role involves the provision of highly specialist clinical input to both bariatric surgery (Tier 4) and weight management (Tier 3) teams, management and clinical supervision for other psychologists, and strategic planning for psychology within these services. The surgery team has an international Centre of Excellence status and is supportive of opportunities to develop training and research both locally and nationally.

You would be joining an innovative Trust that has a commitment to outstanding patient care, colleague wellbeing, and clinical supervision. Recent organisational changes to the Trust have merged the acute and community trusts with an ever increasing ethos of whole person and psychologically-informed care. There is excellent support from both the network of psychologists in our health settings, and also a wider network of psychology professionals and psychological therapists who meet regularly for professional support and development. The role is part time working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday’s with flexibility required to support the service where necessary. The base of work is at Musgrove Park Hospital and there is also flexibility to work from home.

It is on the mainline rail network, with the Unesco world heritage city of Bath, and the coastal town of Exeter and the vibrant city of Bristol all under an hour, and London within reach under 2 hours.
