Job Description
Arcadis’s UK Water Design & Engineering team is hiring a Principal Civil Engineer to join their HS2 Utilities Diversion design team.

This role is associated with the Detailed Design of utility diversion works for the HS2 project as part of the ASC design joint venture, for the EKFB constructor joint venture. Role inputs include Design leadership and Design Team coordination for a core-team of utilities engineers, other multi-discipline co-ordination and the liaison with and reporting into the EKFB joint venture.

This exciting and challenging role represents a significant opportunity for the right person to showcase their Technical, Project Co-ordination and People Management skills, to get involved with the UK’s largest Infrastructure project (HS2) and to join the growing Arcadis UK Water Design & Engineering team.
Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or suitable alternative qualification
  • Chartered Engineer status - MICE, MCIWEM or suitable alternative professional qualification
  • Good motivation, influencing and people management skills
  • Knowledge and experience of BIM led design and Civils 3D
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of the applicable British Standards, UK Industry Codes of Practice and Water Specifications
  • Experience
  • Design management roles on large multi-disciplinary projects
  • Multi-utility design and co-ordination, NJUG/Street Works UK, NRSWA, third party consents & approvals
  • Recent Design & Build experience working closely with civil contractors, process contractors and their supply chains
  • Experience of HS2 systems would be an advantage, but not essential


Key Responsibilities

  • Liaison with EKFB utilities and construction teams
  • Co-ordination with ASC project management and technical disciplines across the HS2 project
  • Involvement with third party liaison and consents (i.e. Network Rail, highway and planning authorities, local councils, Environment Agency, etc.)
  • Technical support and reviews for the team
  • Review of Design Calculations, Reports and Detailed Design Drawings and other construction ready information
