The Property Projects and Technical Services Team are looking for Principal Building Surveyors with experience of working on Disability Adaptation Works who will provide a comprehensive building surveying service predominantly focusing on Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Funded works.

Lead on carrying out inspections and condition surveys and prepare reports, confirm the required scope of adaptation work within the properties, including defect diagnosis with priorities, lead on recommendations and costings, breaches of legislation, inadequate fire precaution measures and DDA issues. Prepare reports, estimates, specifications, drawings and works schedules for quotations or tendering purposes in relation to the work .

The property Design and Maintenance Team are looking for a Principal Building Surveyor with experience of working on various corporate buildings and assets. The responsibilities of this post relates to planned preventive, reactive maintenance works, major and minor projects. The department wishes to provide a qualified and competent delivery team member for project and maintenance delivery, focusing on corporate assets.

As part of their role, the candidate will carry out:

  • Inspections
  • producing condition surveys and reports
  • confirmation of a client’s requirement
  • where necessary develop a scope of works within the properties
  • including defect diagnosis with priorities
  • recommendations and costings
  • breaches of legislation
  • inadequate fire precaution measures and DDA issues
  • Prepare reports, estimates, specifications, drawings and works schedules for quotations or tendering purposes in relation to the work.
  • Procurement and project resourcing will be a required services for the works ensuring compliance with the Council’s procurement and contract procedures.
  • Manage delivery of building projects including project management
  • contract administration
  • cost management ensuring that all works are carried out in an efficient manner and delivered to budget, timescale and specification.
